In its great competitive relationship, the American construction company, with AIRBUS, decided to present in Bourget 19-25 / 06/2017 this new creation.

It will be a twin – engine narrow body and will enter the battle, for example, for flights from New York to Los Angeles.

Even its flying capability will be enough for medium-haul routes from the United States to smaller European cities and airports.

Its capacity will range from 220 to 270 seats, for flights up to 10 hours non- stop, and a distance of up to 5,200 nautical miles.

Has BOEING studied this type?

It seems like it has, because it estimates that it will have orders for more than 4,000 similar aircraft when this will begin to be delivered to airlines / customers in 2025.

The gap to be covered between the BOE-737 and the BOE-787 is well-appreciated.

With the new aircraft, the company will offer thousands of new jobs and co-operation with international suppliers to the US economy.

The first customers are about 60.

Among them the LCC Indian Spice-Jet.

Wings and spindle will be made of polycarbonate material, such as of the 787.

Mike Delaney, Vice President of the construction department at BOEING, claims that 797, will have a cost savings of around 45% compared to A330neo's AIRBUS flight cost.

Here is a huge dilemma for AIRBUS retiring general manager of sales, John Leahy, who, with a tremendous acumen, has raised to one trillion dollars the turnover of European manufacturers, is now called upon to defend his title as a super seller against the Americans, to the ever-increasing deceleration of world-wide aircraft sales.

The bet for the 797 and the long-time duel of the 2 Mega Manufacturers will surely have a great deal of anxiety and many business phases.

My personal experience from the two-day event that I spent in this year's Le Bourget, fills me with moderate hope for the future of Air Transport.

A day of particular importance was May 5, 2017 for China and the dreams of its Aviation Industry.

Its creation, the C919, flew the skies of Shanghai in a final test, only with crew, for less than a half (1.5) hour.

Its landing took place with the presence of several hundred enthusiastic spectators who watched.

The aircraft making China the fourth manufacturer of narrow body aircraft to 150 seats, with the BOEING, AIRBUS and the EMBRAER, forms a new revolution.

Of course, the triumphalism of the President of COMAC, He-Dongfang, that "this is a great day for all of us" echoes the feelings of the company and the people of China.

The engine chosen by the company LEAP-1C is a turbomachine of great technology selected from 2009.

The hull of the twin-engine aircraft is of domestic manufacture, while the landing gear is German, of American-French technology the engines and the cabin has Austrian origin.

The IPS system is a Fully Integrated Propulsion System, has undergone technologically innovative improvements, thus gives good aerodynamic board, lighter and economical technical terms of maintenance.

All these contribute for the C919 to be received mainly by Chinese air but slowly from other countries orders that exceed today 600.

Because of course the large number of orders contributes significantly to the price, which ranges from 49.0 to 51.0 million dollars.

That is half the price and even less than that of its main competitors.

However, many things contribute for its low price.

Mainly the labour cost.

We write again as we have pointed out in the past.

Bombardier assembles with very good cost/price for many years now, many types of its vessels in China.

Solid, Quality, commercial power.
A big “lion” that roars and threatens commercially China.

It progresses, gets organized, it gains step by step its expected first level as a global economic power in the two coming decades.

THE NEW CONCORDE IS BORN

Richard Branson, the genius self-made entrepreneur of the skies, strikes again.

In co-operation with Boom, which is led by another major businessman pioneer of special aviation construction, they have in production line the successor of the supersonic aircraft.

And of course, of the 200 plus Concorde's seats, Boom will have only 55.

In compensation, it will reach its highest speed of 2340 km/h compared to 2180 km/h of the former French grandeur.

The Concorde "died" after that famous accident of his fall a few decades ago.

An air accident attributed according to the estimates of very serious aeronautical specialists in peculiar circumstances.

American competitors, whose air carrier interests had been "displaced ".

Thus, the London-New York flight will take place in about 190 minutes, breaking the barrier of sound at least twice as fast.

Virgin Galactic, the super-creation of Richard, pioneers without "barriers", since he makes new efforts in the field of space as well to resume, despite some early failures, a commercial flight of few selected multimillionaire customers in orbit in space.

We see that Boom, which will definitely have very expensive tickets, because of its low capacity, will manage to show what "an everlasting beast of avant-garde" the human being is, in its struggle for the best, the … novel.

Perhaps it's time for the HELLENIC AIR CARRIER to start operating in distant destinations.

Because it may be difficult for Theodoros Vassilakis to agree with the smaller shareholders of Aegean, the brothers Panos and Thanassis Laskaridis, but his upcoming trip to the United States means a lot.

He is likely to approach BOEING directly to set up a leasing contract for the newly created B737 max which is launching with a satisfactory range of action by the American manufacturer.

This capacity of his will be in the range of 4,000 km, and at this time it will receive the relevant certificates from the AMERICAN FAA.

Of course the range of this AIRCRAFT will allow intercontinental flights with at least 1 or 2 stop-overs.

At the same time, the attraction of the Vassilakis family for Airbus remains clear, and therefore is surely interested in chartering the A320neo that Airbus has launched with many hopes, orders and with almost the same range of flight.

However, if it acquires both types, its fleet Company will become multi-typed, with whichever unfavorable means for its technical support and not only.

Compensating per seat cost will be significantly reduced, but also by stop-overs it will collect a purely Aegean clientele without partnerships in share code programs.

Independence and planning independence always brings profits in the medium and long term, as may the operator's ability to perform routes between Athens and Delhi as the Indians have recently been approaching.

Profits are coming from there and maybe from other itineraries.

The future will show the value of the venture.

ALITALIA …on a flight without return

When in 2014 Etihad Airways bought 49% of the Italian carrier leaving the Italians 51%, it had big development plans.

Firstly, it wished to expand the routes, reducing the intra-Italian work.

At the same time, it had goals and an inflight and in the airports service of extremely high quality.

Within three years from the above purchase, the Arabs wanted to wipe the political interference as well in the work carrier, to improve the deplorable financial management and to renew the very old fleet.

The training sessions for all staff were pressingly intensified.

Unfortunately from 23.5 approx. million passengers carried in 2014, last year, 2016, had a decrease of about 500,000 fewer passengers.

For this reason the load factor remained at approximately 75%, while the major competitor Ryanair, reached 95%.

The competition, though, which dramatically harms ALITALIA is the domestic flights, where it is fighting hard, unequal and detrimental to LOW – COST – CARRIERS (LCC), spending about 18% more on fuel & leasing.

This is because “the old sins” do not allow advantageous negotiation with the lessors.

Certainly, at the same time, wrong decisions are included of the company of Abu Dhabi to create a network of disparate air to compete its true rival Emirates Airways with a
carryover of the passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi

Of course the low cost airlines override other parameters, such as overnight accommodation of crews in accordance with the applicable provisions, which damage them catalytically.

Finally the "subsidiary" is dying daily, it flies with a one way ticket.

What will the mother company do?

Will it continue the unequal battle, or will it sell further more with large loss what it dreamt as a profitable business?

We are confident based on our long-standing involvement in the field of AVIATION that it will soon sell, taking a serious lesson from this size risky business project.

HELLAS, experiences, this, as well.

Because, as the Honourable Minister of Tourism of our country “found”  triumphantly at ITB Berlin a few days ago, the increase of arrivals from Germany will reach about 12%.
Taking it into consideration that TUI, ruled by its British management, has foreseen great increase from Britain as well,  any true connoisseur of our ill-fated Tourism realizes that, the Mega-Group will "pack" hundreds of millions of euros.
These together with the Transport through its Air fleet and all other prepaid services will again strangle the revenues from this grand home industry.
Domestically the "bracelet bearers", as we have extensively write before, will spend little and the value of our hopes it'll be for "tears."
The
eloquent but irrelevant Minister is boasting for the 28 million visitors but with only EUR 14.5 billion revenue, while last year with 25 million Tourists we collected 13.5

billion euros.

Conclusion: Germans and British Tour Operators are getting wealthier against the plebeians.

TUI- UK will bring as well an international platform for civil weddings.

Maybe there is something worthwhile to collect from that source.
Other than that, the Mediterranean diet that TUI GROUP will launch in Crete, is expected to yield little for Greece, since surely the prepaid packets will prevail.
Madame Minister, do be proud, because the International Grand-Groups and the domestic Mega-Hotels you admire will fill their revenues.
The Greek stand
, with which you were photographed together with your collaborators and others, has little comparative ability to capitalize the Tourist decline of the “wild” Turkey.
Too bad, because for years we talk emphatically.

We need Ministers of the Sector, not photogenic but with knowledge of this complex, demanding task.

Do we scream in deaf ears?

No sooner launched in 2017, the Commercial Director of the famous low-cost carrier (LCC) Ryanair pounced on several Greek Ministries for their adversely him affecting Tourism Policy.

Thus, it was announced by the company to cut 500,000 seats for routes to Thessaloniki.

The reasons for such action is described, truthfully, that there is a long delay in the completion of the runway project.

Naturally, the responsible Minister has promised several times, though not being verified by the facts, that the works will be finished in time.

Certainly the company has engaged in a barrage of correspondence from April 2016, with successive phases in September and November of that year.

As a result of Ryanair's Conflict with the Greek authorities came the decline, after more than 25 protest letters and communications, of the planning for flights to Greece.

Besides, the reduction activated throughout Hellas, moves slightly higher than 2% of available airline seats in the country, while backing away from a traditional destination like Kos.

While at the same time, repeated attacks on "Marie Antoinette" as is characterized, the Tourism Minister vehemently, while increasing by 12 its itineraries including in Budapest, Hungary, and from there to Valencia, Edinburgh and Prague, starting with 24 itineraries from Frankfurt to an equal number of European destinations.  .

The business practice of the Irish company usually operates as a pressure lever, for better terms by the authorities in each country which attempts.

It is a legitimate aim since today offers an extremely large narrow-type aircraft fleet of the latest generation aircraft, with constant new arrivals, and has experienced and capable pilots.

The nature of the company as a low-cost (LCC) requires objective and low fees in Greek airports, which are among the most expensive in Europe with prominent the Eleftherios Venizelos Αirport.

Afterthought, "the depth of the tunnel" seeks incentives and subsidies especially in the low season to increase the traffic, as opposed to what happens with incentives in the high season that are reaped by large Airlines, controlled by major Tour Operators.

O 'Leary might be peculiar, but he is also genius.

He steps dynamically in business and needs optimization of the company's profit margin.

He invents and implements continuous advancement program, and is hard to disappear, when all the more when he manages a company-range 350 aircraft.

While calculating the adverse effects of Brexit, notes the decrease in net profit of the company in the last quarter of 2016 to 101 million. US dollars, while the average load factor fell to 95% for each fleet aircraft.

Eventually the future will prove its worth or worthlessness of business applied.

The regional airports are seeking aid ... like Greece.

Fraport, the great bidder, which is expected to pay at some point to our suffering country, approximately 1.23 billion inter alia as a single price, went in search for its recapitalization.

It hired, as is well known, several hundred staff, but from month to month has deferred payment and consequent payment of the price.

This way will surely lose this year's summer period, since if it pays in March 2017, is unlikely to proceed in substantially reform projects of the 14 airports in the middle of the Tourist arrivals.

It will content itself with "half-measures" and these airports will again afflict their passengers with their existing meager infrastructures.

Who would really have thought that Fraport - Slentel would seek capitals to support them in a substantial percentage of the due payable price?

Of course, now it seems that they secured the money they needed, but my good major investor, “you are walking on thorny grounds”.

Our country is in huge need of this price.

You do not see how it ended up?

Today it begs but certainly soon, when there is a change in all kind of conditions, will highlight the imperious Hellenic soul.

Which knows in time to pull back to the revival like a phoenix from its ashes.

 "Keep walking forward Greeks!"

NAXOS AIR Cyclades found their… Austrian

NAXOS  AIR

Cyclades found their Austrian

Naxos air is indeed an air business venture of particular importance for the Cyclades.

The Austrian "Georgos", as the locals call him here in Naxos, being for 35 years in love with the beautiful Greek island, George Pommer  as his full name is, decided to realize his dream, to interconnect the Cyclades. He wants to make them similar to French Polynesia and not only.

He has been working on the design of this project for several years, being in close communication with the HCAA and the European Safety Aviation Agency. Besides, his vast experience in the area starts from the Green Air which has the Austrian Salzburg.

The competition in Greece, of course, because of the Aegean, Olympic Air, Sky Express and Ellinair, does not discourage him.

This is because while the aforementioned air companies fly from Athens and Thessaloniki to the main Cycladic destinations like Mykonos, Santorini and Syros, there is a missing link between Cyclades.

The fleet to be run will involve 12seat and 16seat aircrafts.

Those planes are easily filled, need small corridors from / landing and the per seat cost is low and competitive.

Pommer starts cleverly from the most popular airports of Mykonos and Santorini, with an existing commercial air traffic of about 350,000 passengers annually.

He started with the new Cesna Caravan Ex to make test flights with 12 passenger capacity and 600 kg load. It traveled the distance in less than 25 minutes.

A parallel goal is to extend up to nine months of the flight other than the major Cyclades and Paros and Naxos.

Syros and Milos are the new destinations he “sees” as well.

The logos of the new airline dominate in all the islands of Cyclades that is about to service already.

Of course the weather conditions of these islands during the summer season with fierce local winds may turbulent with the passengers in these small aircraft but they are proved to be very safe in their flight operations.

We truly believe that the contribution of this company will generate a substantial interconnection of high value for the islands of the Aegean.

We wish that, because it was missing in that geographic area, after the fiasco the irrelevant Greek state treated with, when it literally buried the hopes of a big company of seaplanes to be granted flight permit.

That company which believed that private initiative might have possibilities of realization in this unhospitable, to private investors, country.
